Why Sell Your Coins and Currency At Auction?
GreatCollections has thousands of bidders each week, competing for your coins and currency.
Integrity and peace of mind knowing that an auction company is working for you, to get as much as possible for your coins and currency.
GreatCollections commission rates are significantly lower than our competition.
Fast processing into auction and then fast consignor checks after the auction.
How do I ship coins/paper money to GreatCollections?
We recommend shipping coins/paper money through the United States Postal Service via Registered Insured Mail or Priority Insured Mail. This is the safest way to transport coins. If you have coins worth more than $25,000 to sell, please contact us for special instructions. We will contact you the day your coins/paper money arrive.
Are my coins/paper money insured?
Yes, from the moment your coin(s)/banknote(s) arrive at GreatCollections, they are fully insured through our extensive policy with Lloyd's of London. A copy of our insurance certificate is available by request.
Do you charge listing fees?
We charge nominal listings fees based on the minimum bid set of between $3 and $10 (detailed on our consignment form). These are only charged in the first auction (listing fees are not charged in the second or any subsequent relisting of your unsold items).
When can I expect payment?
While our terms and conditions state that all consignors will be paid within 30 days, we routinely pay our consignors early (usually within 7-14 days). GreatCollections can also give you an instant cash advance of up to half of their value (for certified coins). For more information about cash advances, please call Ian Russell at 1.800.44.COINS (+1.949.679.4180) or e-mail [email protected].
What happens if my coins/paper money don't sell?
Our sell-through rate is very high at GreatCollections. In the unlikely event your coins/banknotes do not sell, we will reoffer them in another auction. If they remain unsold, we will return them to you via insured mail (the cost is billed to your consignor account).
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone at 1-800-442-6467 (1-949-679-4180), by e-mail at [email protected] or by fax to 1-949-679-4178.
About GreatCollectionsGreatCollections was founded by Ian Russell as an auction house to serve the rare coin, paper money and bullion community. Though there are many places to buy and sell coins and paper money, very few ensure that the transaction is conducted in a safe and secure manner while keeping both parties confidential.
GreatCollections offers collectors an extensive selection of certified coins and paper money ranging in price from $25 up to over $100,000. All coins/banknotes have been professionally listed and imaged by GreatCollections expert staff and most are certified by the leading third-party grading companies. Since GreatCollections has possession of all items being offered for sale, GreatCollections will ship your auction winnings and purchases to you securely and promptly. Sellers consign to GreatCollections to take advantage of our low commission rates, which work out in most cases to be cheaper than if they did all the work themselves.
