What is a "Raw" coin?

A "raw" coin is a coin that has not been graded by a third-party grading service, such as PCGS, NGC or ANACS, among others.  Even though the coin may come in a plastic holder or flip, it is still considered raw if it's not in an encapsulation from one of these services.

GreatCollections generally only sells coins that are graded by PCGS, NGC or ANACS, with the exception of bullion-related coins and certain U.S. Mint products.  All uncertified or "raw" coins will be clearly marked in the title of the item.
