Post ANA Update from GreatCollections

Raeleen and I had a great time at the ANA in Denver. Apart from meeting friends and clients all week, we obtained a large amount of consignments, which you will see in our auctions starting this Sunday (August 27th). We’ve also received a number of important consignments at our office over the past week, including a leading set of Franklin Half Dollars (Business Strikes & Proofs), superb key dates like a 1914-D Half Eagle graded PCGS MS-65+, high-grade 1879-CC GSA certified NGC MS-65, the Parlayer Registry Set of Liberty Half Eagles and much, much more.
We’ve been asked many times over the past few weeks about whether we are increasing our buyer’s fees to follow our two competitors (who increased their fees to 20% almost in tandem recently).
I can confirm that we will continue to offer a discounted buyer’s fee of 10% (min $5) for all auction wins paid by check, eCheck or wire - this is by far the lowest in our industry. Our increase in standard buyer’s fee of 12.5% is only for payments by credit card and PayPal - this change is effective with our auctions ending on Sunday, August 27th.
Our new eCheck option is open to all existing clients - we can set this up in advance of the auction or call/email us after the auction and we will send you the instructions. No checking account information is stored electronically by GreatCollections - only the last three digits of your account number. We will only debit your account when you instruct us to by conveniently checking out your invoice online. Many bidders love our fast shipping and paying by eCheck will not slow this down. If you have questions about which payment option is better for you, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-800-442-6467.
In addition to our eCheck option, we will soon be offering new services for regular bidders and consignors, such as CAC submissions (although we offer this for consigned coins, we will be adding a special service as a convenience for coins not immediately consigned). We're also re-releasing our Auction Archive with new searching/filter capabilities. With well over 400,000 auction records for certified coins, it is one of the most comprehensive archives for PCGS/NGC pricing, available to all members at no charge. We’ve spent countless hours organizing and programming the new archive and I welcome feedback once it is launched later this month.
We sincerely appreciate your support, whether bidding or consigning - and if there is anything we can help with, please phone our office or e-mail us directly at [email protected]
