How Do I Value My Coins?

Ian Russell on Thu, Nov 01, 2012 12:25:42 AM
We are often asked what is the best guide to use to value coins.  There are many different catalogs, online and in print, listed in magazines, sheets and so forth.

The simple answer is that there is no 100% perfect price guide.  However, one extremely useful tool is our Coin Auction Archive, a database of over 60,000 (and growing) coin prices, actually paid by collectors, dealers and professionals.  What makes this different than the other price guides is that these prices were the actual market at the time the coins were sold.

In addition to the coin prices, you can also view high quality images of all the coins we have sold since launching GreatCollections.
