Description:While there were several different makers of gold ingots recovered in the S.S. Central America shipwreck, the rarest of all are those produced by the Swiss-born banker and assayer Henry Hentsch.

In fact, before this present ingot was discovered in the shipwreck (and just 32 others), no known examples were known to exist from Hentsch, not even in museums.

This present bar is categorized as "very large". Its impressive stature is immediately obvious. It stands out as one of the highlight ingots from the S.S. Central America.

Stamped on the bar: No 3213 / 894 FINE / HY. HENTSCH / OZ 176.25 / $3257.20

Very rare, and highly desirable.
