The Seated Liberty Half Dime series (1837-1873) underwent several design and weight changes. In 1859 and 1860, a time when the country's name was being moved from the reverse to the obverse, transitional patterns were made without "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" on either side of coin.
GreatCollections has sold 2,036 Seated Liberty Half Dimes in the past 10 years, selling at prices from $1 to $25,300, in grades 1 to 68. Of these, 311 were approved by CAC.
The design was made by: Christian Gobrecht.
