Gorgeously conceived by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the 1907 Indian Eagle was the subject of public outcry, with its omission of the "IN GOD WE TRUST" motto. Beginning in 1908, the motto was added as mandanted by Congress. Indian Eagles were the last Eagles minted in the United States, and production of the series and the denomination ended in 1933.

GreatCollections has sold 2,486 Indian Gold Eagles in the past 10 years, selling at prices from $590 to $112,500, in grades 1 to 68. Of these, 373 were approved by CAC.

The design was made by: Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
