Eagle production was halted from 1805 to 1837, and was resumed when the the gold content in gold coins was reduced. Besides undergoing a minor modification with the addition of the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" to its reverse, the Liberty Eagle, like the Liberty Half Eagle, went relatively unchanged for 70 years, with production from 1838 to 1907.
