What are VAM numbers on Silver Dollars?
Ian Russell on Sun, May 13, 2012 07:33:56 PM
A VAM Number is a number which has been assigned to a Peace or Morgan Dollar die variety by the authors of the ultimate reference book called The Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace Dollars by Leroy C. Van Allen and A. George Mallis.

It is GC's policy to only note a VAM number when it has been noted by the grading service.

If you have a rare VAM, GreatCollections can arrange for the coin to be graded and annotated with the variety while being graded.  Contact us for more information.
