Record Sales in 4 Hours at GreatCollections - $681,927
Ian Russell on Fri, Nov 22, 2013 08:24:05 PM
GreatCollections hit another record with $681,927 in a single day of coin auctions on Sunday, November 10, 2013.

Ian Russell, President and Owner of GreatCollections predicted sales of over $500,000 prior to the close of bidding, however, spirited bidders pushed the final prices to over $680,000 when the auctions closed.

Ian commented: "We continue to grow and offer a wider selection of coins in our auctions each week.  I am personally looking forward to the next few months.  In October, we offered the Young Collection of Silver Commemoratives, already November has started off very strong and we have some very interesting and fresh consignments to be offered in December and January."

One collection being prepared for auction by GreatCollections is an important collection of Nickels.  The extensive collection includes hundreds of listed varieties from Shield Nickels through modern  Jefferson Nickels.  The 1916 Doubled Die Obverse Buffalo Nickel is considered the key to the whole series and it has been graded Extremely Fine by NGC.  There are hundreds of certified coins and even more uncertified in this collection.
